I saw this fabulous idea on Pinterest from Dr Zachry's Blog and I've been dying to try it out. We cut out the fingerpainted background and made our trees into apple one's to celebrate Autumn.
The toilet paper roll is such a genius idea for the tree trunk. I love how it pops off of the page. Just cut an empty toilet paper roll in half and use a generous amount of the school glue to put it in place. After letting it dry for a while, I drew a tree shape in pencil and we glued down scrunched tissue paper inside it. We cut a strip of green construction paper for the grass and after making slits all the way down the strip, we glued it to the bottom for the grass. Lastly, we glued on red buttons for the apples.
We also enjoyed going on a color walk this morning, searching for every color of the rainbow. Such a fun way to review colors.
Happy Crafting!!
