I've noticed that when my kids develop an interest in a certain type of toy we tend to suddenly have a million of them (i.e. dinosaurs, cars). Next thing you know your hallway looks like an army of toys ready for battle...
Then the tops of dressers and desks look like a sequel to Jurassic Park...
And your living room floor is covered in dinosaurs who are floating on a raft of domino's and matching cards trying to avoid the "lava" wood floors.
Have you been there???
A Company called Neat Oh created a product called ZipBin's that is the perfect solution to these problems. They are so ideal for playtime and for storing your children's toy collections.
The bin unzips into a play mat that features a fun scene for kids to play and interact with all their toys, and then once they are done playing, the mat zips back up into a bin, and creates the perfect storage place for all their toys. The dinosaur one pictured above looks like so much fun! It even comes with a couple dinosaurs to add to your child's collection. And look at this awesome Small Town ZipBin pictured below. The bottom of the lid comes with little compartments to store your cars. How fun is that?!
They made sure not to leave the girls out and have this adorable Fairy Castle ZipBin pictured below also. It is the perfect little scene to play with dolls or My Little Ponies, or any girly collection your child might have. I love that the outside looks like a castle, so girls can even play with their dolls right inside the bin like the girl pictured below.
The Organized Parent sent me one of these Fairy Castle ZipBin's to try out. The product itself doesn't suggest an appropriate age for play, but I would suggest ages 3-7. My daughter just turned two and while she loves to carry the ZipBin around and use it for storage, she isn't quite old enough to understand how to use it as intended. The ZipBin includes a little doll, which is super cute. My two-year old has tested it and given it her thumbs up approval.
I love the castle graphics on the outside of the bin. The material seems sturdy for long time use and it can be easily cleaned with a wet cloth for any incidentals (since we all know there some how always ends up being incidentals). The mat itself has a waterfall, lots of greenery, paths and a bridge leading up to a castle which is set up on a hill. It seems great for pretend play. My favorite feature is how it allows kids to play with their toys throughout the house, while providing an easy way for clean-up since the toys can be easily stored right in the ZipBin.
This would be great for weekend trips to Grandma's house or even a great toy to keep at Grandma's house! I'm also thinking that with Christmas coming up next month, there are millions of boys and girls who would love to find this wrapped under the Christmas Tree for them! :)
